Remembering those who served

I had the honor and privilege of participating in the Kitsap County, Washington "Run to Tahoma" where five veterans were buried at the Tahoma National Cemetery.  What an awesome and awe inspiring event.  Over 200 motorcyclists escorted the remains and I and my children were part of the motor escort.

During the drive, it gave me time to reflect about my ancestors and the patriots who fight long ago and more recently.  Their sacrafice has kept us safe and many died in the process.  I feel it's so important that we remember this weekend is about honoring those who serve and served and not about sales and shopping.  Take a moment to reflect, honor those who've passed by visiting their gravesites or putting them into your thoughts, and certainly thank your family service members for serving.
